back Snowboard Mountaineering, Endurance & Mountain Challenges

MARCO GALLIANO

Marco Galliano is an Italian snowboarder-mountaineer who has been tackling extreme mountain challenges and endurance feats for over 10 years.

Between summits, descents, and the spirit of adventure

Originally from Saluzzo, Marco Galliano is an athlete and snowboarder-mountaineer who has chosen the mountains as his life’s training ground. His passion for snow and high-altitude environments has led him to accomplish some of the world’s most demanding descents — including, in 2006, the full snowboard descent of Muztagh Ata, 7,546 m (Pamir, China), and in 2009, the first Italian and third overall full descent of Cho Oyu, 8,201 m (Himalaya).

Beyond Himalayan expeditions, Galliano has faced challenges combining endurance, adventure, and personal commitment — demonstrating that sport can also be a form of testimony and transformation.

Commitment, awareness, and new horizons — when sport becomes a value

In recent years, Marco has chosen to use his visibility and determination for projects that go beyond performance. In 2025, he completed the charitable project “Una Montagna di Sorrisi” (A Mountain of Smiles), a journey from sea to mountain — from the Po river Delta to the summit of Monviso, 3,841 m — combining cycling, hiking and climbing to support the volunteer organization Il Fiore della Vita,  helping children undergoing cancer treatment. This initiative highlights not only his physical strength but also his social awareness and his understanding of sport as a tool for solidarity.

Passion, courage, and a free spirit

Since 2019, Marco has been part of the ACCAPI family, bringing with him a free spirit, a passion for the mountains, and the determination that define him.

As an ambassador, Marco represents the values of passion, courage, and authenticity — qualities that clearly emerge from his history of extreme challenges and tangible commitment to others.
